UPLOADING IMAGES
You can now access the gallery directly by clicking the links in the new navigation bar.
- Gallery Index (inside the gallery index you will find all public albums and your personal album)
- Upload image to your personal album (you can create up to 3 sub-albums)

:!: To create personal Albums you have to to to your User control panel http://wecookart.com/forum/ucp.php and select the 'Gallery' tab, then on the left side you will see the options to create and manage your personal albums and some other things.

PUBLIC ALBUMS
There are 3 public albums:
:: 2D (finished work only)
:: 3D
:: Photography

When you open a public album you will see a “Upload Image’ link right under the Album title and Moderators list.
Feel free to upload the best of your work to the public albums and all the other work to your personal albums.

POSTING IMAGES
If you want to post your images in your Sketchbook or your Museum thread you first have to upload your work to your personal album or a public album.

Under every image you will find codes:
Image BBCode: [album] your number [/album] this code will post a thumbnail of your image

The second BB code will post a simple link

Image-URL: http://wecookart.com/forum/gallery/yourimageurlblabla this is the URL of your image, you can post it with this [img] imageURL [/img] tag

:!: Best choice for web is usually always JPG or GIF(for small images and animations)!

- JPG (best choice to save larger images, you can easily control the compression rate)
- GIF (great for smaller images as the colors are limited to max 265, but you can use transparency and animation)
- PNG8 (same quality as GIF, has transparency too and with some apps it can even save 1bit alpha, has no
animation tho)
- PNG24 this will make rather large files in Photoshop, without compressing the images)

When saving your work for web you should also always use the “file/save for Web & Devices” to save your images as a jpg instead of simply using the “save as” You will get a much better quality control doing so!

COMPRESSION ARTIFACTS?

When uploading your work the gallery will create a compressed version for a faster browsing, that is why the data size and quality changes. But if you click on the image (in the gallery) then the uncompressed image will load, you can then copy the
URL and include it in your post with the [IMG] tags.

:44: In Forums other than the Sketchbooks and Museum
You still can use the “upload attachment’ function !

Have fun!
cheers
