Hello to everyone---and hello again to some. I was surprised by the reset to the system, and am not sure if I will re-post some of the older sketches. In any case, I am almost 30 years old (as of November!) and am working hard to improve my art. My main reason is because I really want to do justice to the images in my head. I can think and dream and see like a master in my mind, but I am still very much a beginner. If you really want to see some of my older stuff, it is at my other sketchbook here:

Today was a rare slightly-cool day, so I actually got to sit outside and do some sketches. People, for some reason, LOVE to talk to me. Especially when I am trying to draw. So I ended up being distracted because I can`t always bring myself to be rude (especially with impressionable children watching.) Another bothersome thing was that I finally got to work on drawing a car, and then another car parked in my line of sight for loading! I was so upset because the main thing I wanted to work on was the wheels, and it blocked almost everything! Grrrr.

For those that remember, I am working on an art trade as well. It is 75% done. I will finish it tomorrow and post the results soon ^_^ That has really eaten up most of my time, cutting into studies.

Let me provide you with some helpful info
If you want o post pictures you first have to upload them in your personal album or submit them to one of the public albums
You can create a personal album in your user control panel in the gallery tab: ucp.php
Here is a link to the gallery where you will find the public albums: gallery/index.php

After uploading the images you can post them using the Image BBCodes that are displayed under the Images in your gallery pages. Posting the first code with [IMG] tags will show the image in big and the second code will show a thumbnail.

The Forum will automatically assign the first attached image or the first image posted with [IMG] tags as your topic thumbnail.

The more you draw, the better you become - it's as simple as that

You could ask the people that want to talk to you if they'd mind to be your model for 5 minutes or so, that would be a great opportunity for life drawing! :16:

Well just ask them, what's the worst that could happen? If they don't want to be painted, for whatever reason, fine, no problem

The first art-trade is official DONE!

I think I redid the sword and the guy at LEAST 3 times each, if not more. There is a lot that I just can`t fix until I get more experience, so it is back to studies! I used every ounce of experience and knowledge that I have learned so far, and even got some additional feedback from others and this was still only as far as I could take the picture. Next art trade will be better!

Anyway, enough rambling. The image is based off of the upcoming Final Fantasy 13 Versus character, Noctis. I used screenshots from the trailers for his face and hair, the statue and the windows. I used the following links to reference the clothing:

Now some fans have translated an interview from Nomura indicating the glove would be on his right hand and the ring on his left, but in both images the glove is clearly on the left. The glove looks too stiff to be used on a sword hand, anyway. So I took some liberties on that ^_^ I really want to draw the glove, but...sigh...it just wasn`t meant to be.

Anyway, enjoy. Next upload will be all studies and the completed image from my most recent drawing class.
