Postby KITCHEN BOT :: » 11 Nov 2010, 23:29

Hello cgaddict !
It is good to see you posting here!
:14:

Let me provide you with some helpful info
If you want o post pictures you first have to upload them in your personal album or submit them to one of the public albums
You can create a personal album in your user control panel in the gallery tab: ucp.php
Here is a link to the gallery where you will find the public albums: gallery/index.php

After uploading the images you can post them using the Image BBCodes that are displayed under the Images in your gallery pages. Posting the first code with [IMG] tags will show the image in big and the second code will show a thumbnail.

The Forum will automatically assign the first attached image or the first image posted with [IMG] tags as your topic thumbnail.
If you get lost or need help understanding the features please visit here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=45

Have fun posting!

Lot of cool work.
Concerning the poses studies, I prefer the less precise silhouettes, where you draw the guide lines for the arms and legs and the basic shapes like this one:

Image

In my opinion, you seem to grasp more easily the dynamism of the pose. When you tried to shade your latest silhouettes, I guess you didn't use the dynamic lines because the poses look very "still" to me.
In your last image, I think some arms are too long too... but maybe it's just me.

Cool stuff man!
In your studies, remember that boobs aren't just round blobs, they have mass aswell. Think how they will set in different poses.
I hope this was of help. :17:

Meteorskies: Thank you, great point regarding focusing more shapes, it's something I need to work on more I admit. Thanks for your honesty.

rotor: Thanks, great point regarding the boobies, will try to keep that in mind for future studies.

wi2rd: Appreciate it :)
............

Today's updates, focused on both gesture as well as construction. These were done mostly from imagination as well. Had a lot of fun with these I have to admit, and learned quite a bit:

I really love your style, always have. Your proportions have improved in the imagination ones I think :)

Wistful Dream: Thank you, glad you enjoy my style. It's great to hear I'm improving as well, keeps me motivated! :D

SteFlack: Thank you, much appreciated :)

.............

Today's studies, did a bunch of heads mostly from Loomis 'Drawing the Head and Hands', as well as from imagination. Learned a great deal, I'm gonna try adding some values/shading on the next batch as well:

Really cool stuff; the figure drawings look really ace. Its probably from my random lurking on previous art forums, but I definitely feel like you're one of the artists where, if I see your name, I can usually expect to see great stuff I can learn from! Glad to see you here. :D

If its any help, two of the ones on the last page bother me a bit. The one in the top right feels like her pelvis is jutting too far back for the angle the rest of her body is at. Maybe the relatively-sharp angle change on the back? I'm not sure!
The other one is in the same row, second from the left; it sort of looks like she's trying to balance herself with her left leg up the air, but her right leg doesn't really look like it has any tension on holding up the weight. For the rest of them, I'm a bit too low-level to see anything that might be off (if there is anything). My bad! Image
