Cooking together - The Paintover thread

Postby Meteorskies » 22 Feb 2011, 16:58

How it works:
You have a specific art piece you would like to be helped with? Post it here and wait for someone to paint over it. You can of course ask for something specific like anatomy, lighting, etc.

For those who want to help with paintover or redlining, pay attention to your explanations, don't throw the paintover without any word. You can be more than one to do a paintover on the same piece.

This thread is meant to help, not to reinterpret somebody's piece, so try to stick to the idea/concept of the art piece.

As I completely suck at anatomy, I won't assert I'm right with what I did:

Sorry, I didn't try the face.
You see, I think your style exaggerates too much the muscles so it results in a very odd anatomy when you use perspective. In my opinion, by blending the muscles with more flesh, it looks more natural.
I didn't really find anything to say about the leg in the front, but I think with more perspective it helps a bit.
The leg in the back was too long and to bent in my opinion, almost twisted.
The shoulder on the right was a bit too hight for the arm position I think.

Hope it helps.

Thank you Meteor!
I didn't even notice the too long legs. good call:)
yes...the muscle in my pieces need to be tones down for sure..especially since i don't understand the muscle structure 100%
as for the perspective of the front leg, i want the leg bent at the knee so only the knee is really foreshortened., but the leg is too long and needs to be shortened.
nice call on the shoulder too.
thanks again.

No offense, but this piece is so raw, I even can't guess where to start to... And "painting over" is fixing problems you can not see/fix yourself, not painting whole picture for you ^_^
ps I like her pose and lower body's anatomy seems perfect!

Cheers!
