Creature Lab #03: Bloodsucking Plant
Your job is to depict the Bloodsucking Plant, and the finished product MUST follow the physical guidelines mentioned below, but other than that it is completely free to your imagination! Due to the overwhelming number of plants and trees, flowers and grasses found in the world, this topic is pretty wide open. It just has to look mean and green (and any other colors you'd like of course) At the end of the week, a poll will be created and the victor will be chosen, and their monster added to the almighty Beastiarium.
Name: Bloodsucking Plant Location: Multiple (Mostly fertile forests and jungles) Description: Any adventurer knows that trekking through the jungle can be perilous, full of vicious beasts and unseen dangers. Running into carnivorous creatures is almost to be expected, but what most travelers don't think about is all the dangerous plant life. One of the deadliest is the Bloodsucking Plant, also known as the Vampire Plant. Laying hidden amongst the flora of the jungle, the plant waits for it's victim to get close, then latches its tendrils onto it, injecting a toxin that induces sleep. It then begins to drain the blood of their prey, until it is satiated. Aside from this ambush approach, larger Vampire Plants have been known to attack their victims head on, using their thorned tendrils and teeth-like maws as weapons.
Physical Traits:
• Use any type of plant/flower as references, a good idea would be to look at the various types of carnivorous plants • The Vampire Plant sucks the blood from it's victims, so some type of organic apparatus must be included somewhere • Freedom to choose color(s) and pattern, but remember that it is a plant that has to somewhat blend in with its environment • Size limitations: Various sizes of Vampire Plants have been noted, some as small as a rabbit, others as large as a horse, so there's not much of a size limit. . First off I apologize for the delay, this should have been up yesterday but something came up and I was unable to make this thread. But there were alot of great entries this round, very different takes and interesting creatures. I didn't have time to finish mine unfortunately. Anyways, it's about that time! LET'S VOTE! |
