I like the variety of the designs this time around.
Dm, yours is the best rendered once again. I love the textures and the lighting. The images feels kinda enchanting to me though except for the single deadly feeling thing in the picture, which is that skull. The gold markings on her are neat but i think they'd work better if they were more angular cuz with them being curvy and swirly like that gives off a whimsical feel. Same for what she's wearing. And now that A-Lien has brought it to my attention, I think I see what they mean with the chest area. From the shoulders up, it suggests that she's leaning over but below them her torso appears upright.
A-Lien, your rendering needs work but your design is best fitting imo, therefore you got my vote since I thought these challenges were supposed to be design challenges. Everything about him, from his face to his attire to his stance, says "demon". With murderous intent caged behind that sinister smile he garners evil itself, burning in one hand, iced over in the other, and slithering out from the very depths of his hallowed core, having his waist girded about with death... I love it. My only complaint is that the design doesn't really say "warrior" to me. That and the skull belt feels unbalanced. Other than that, though, epic design.
Izene, the rendering is nice and I really like the contrast and strong blue accent but like Dm's yours feels rather enchanting. Also, with the soft lighting and fuzzy/whispy outfit, that sort of nullifies what intisity you brought in with the color and value contrast. Plus imo, the outfit itself is a little iffy when I consider that this character's native homeland is described as being "hellish" not to mention its neither any sort of alluring distraction nor intimidating.
Cez, your design is incredibly creative :3 kinda much tho and not as on point as A-Lien's. Though I love the scales, I think as his actual skin it makes him feel more like a beast than a demon but the scales are definitely a keeper idea cuz I think they would make for epic armor. And while you nailed the warrior bit, you brought out so much of his physical power that it overwhelms any sense of his magical power. At first glance I would think he was a brimstone brute.

Believe it or not, the point to art, any art--music, illustration, literature, sculpture, movies--is to convey an emotion, thought, idea, or all of the above. So the message of any piece of art is its foundation not just some "mere detail".
