ArtRage is not free. but you can download a demo version of studio pro for free that last 30 days.
I like it so far. it is like painter except without all the headaches:)
simple layout. great if you are coming from a traditional painting background. I will keep using it until the demo version runs out. The full studio pro package is only $80 USD. combined with my PS Elements, I may just buy it and use for a bit until I can afford a full "licensed" CS5 PS. :27:
