Hi, I'd like to open a spot up in here, seeing as how I feel like I'm finally getting a comfortable hold on digital painting. I still have a ton left to learn, but with what I know up to this point, I feel as though I can finally call some of my art "good."
And this should be the place to put those pieces. Don't expect it to grow... if at all.
However, whenever I do finally make a piece that I've put a ton of effort into and it shows, I'll be sure to add it to this.
So far, this is what I have. One image, and it's a portrait of a friend I know on facebook. She asked me to do a portrait of her, so I was sure to make it look as good as I could have had her expect it to look... And even then I find places I fall up a little short, but I think it is overall one of my best pieces. The thing is, she didn't have any idea of what she wanted me to do, so I flipped through her profile pictures for some sort of inspiration, and I found an image of her where it looks like she was straight out of the '50/'40s. It was a fun looking image, so I decided to paint her as though she were a poster girl for something world war 2 related, and I did a quick search and found out war bonds was a big thing in ww2 that was on a lot of posters.. So I chose that.
I did have a reference of her face, the hand and body are all from imagination, and the text is supposed to say "Buy War Bonds!" "Support your country!" I chose to have it zoomed in and cut the text out, so that it seemed more about her and less of an advertisement.
But here it is!
